Nigeria up six spots, Algeria remain on top of Africa

Madagascar made the biggest jump in last month’s FIFA rankings, after moving up a whopping 29 places to 108th spot. Rwanda on the other had the biggest drop, as they fell 16 spots to 103rd.

The new standings were published on the governing body’s official website on Thursday on the brink of two major international tournaments, the Copa America Centenario and the UEFA European Championship.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have jumped six spots latest FIFA rankings. The Eagles now sit on the 61st spot in the world, up from the 67th spot in May. They however remain outside the top ten teams in Africa at 12th place.

The Desert Foxes of Algeria remain on top of Africa and 32nd in the world rankings, in which Argentina lead the way, ahead of Belgium and Colombia, who are in second and third position, respectively.
